World Cup 2010 Fever!~

Sorry that I'm more focused on football now considering that World Cup 2010 is approaching. I would like to look through the likely provisional squad of England, many peoples' favorite team! It seems to be that this squad is rather more balanced that the previous World Cup team. Let's have a look at the likely 30-man provisional squad members:-

Goalkeepers: Robert Green, David James, Joe Hart

Defenders: Rio Ferdinand, Matthew Upson, John Terry, Glen Johnson, Ashley Cole, Phil Jagielka, Michael Dawson, Wes Brown, Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ledley King

Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Tom Huddlestone, Aaron Lennon, Adam Johnson, Theo Walcott, Stewart Downing, Shaun Wright-Phillips

Strikers: Wayne Rooney, Jermaine Defoe, Peter Crouch, Emile Heskey, Bobby Zamora, Carlton Cole

The only problem probably lies in the goalkeeping department, where Joe Hart performed consistently for Birmingham City this season but his inexperience might see him behind the pecking order..Robert Green should be no.1 come 12th June 2010.

The defense department looks pretty solid and don't be surprise if Gary Neville gets a recall to the squad; if all fit, Johnson-Ferdinand-Terry-Cole would be the first choice.

As for the midfielders, Lampard and Gerrard will have their positions; as for the wings I think Adam Johnson played well for the 2nd half of the season for Man City, he might stand a chance, if not i'll prefer to go with James Milner for his versatility. For left wing, Gerrard would probably play there considering there is no good left-sided winger

Stewart Downing seems inexperience for world stage...where the hell is Ashley Young of Aston Villa btw? DAMN! he's good enough to replace Lennon,Walcott, and SWP! Carrick would take the central midfield if Gerrard is to be drifted to the left wing.

Finally the strike force of England, Capello has tried Rooney-Heskey, Rooney-Defoe and Rooney-Crouch combination..which does he prefers? It remains to be seen, but if Zamora from Fulham is to be selected, I do think that Rooney-Zamora combo is good..Zamora has good strength, technique, speed and height to accommodate Rooney's play.

Overall, just watch out for Rooney & Lampard in World Cup 2010. Yes both of em`! For young players..Adam Johnson & James Milner look promising! ..cheers! :)

First post in a new blog..

Can't believe that I'm blogging..! Too much hassle in life that sometimes all you need is just to sit down and write out everything..anyway, I'm new here so any guidance on improving my website would be appreciated!

Being a crazy football fan and with just 34 days to the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, I would like to do some run through on potential World Cup 2010 winners. First being Spain of course..

Goalkeepers : Iker Casillas, Pepe Reina, Victor Valdes

Defenders: Alvaro Arbeloa, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, Raul Albiol, Carlos Marchena, Sergio Ramos, Juan Capdevila

Midfielders: Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Marcos Senna, David Silva, Francesc Fabregas, Pedro, Sergio Busquets, Sergio Canales

Strikers: David Villa, Fernando Torres, Daniel Guiza, Alvaro Negredo

This is the probable 23-man squad that will be announced for the World Cup 2010, hopefully my picks are right. The strength of this team is obviously the creativity in the middle of the park. Whose the prefer mid-4? Xabi-Senna-Xavi-Silva, Xabi-Xavi-Iniesta-Silva and lastly Xabi-Xavi-Fabregas-Silva? There are lots of talent and creativity in the middle and with the deadly strike force of Villa and Torres; do expect goals from this squad.

Not forgetting, the vast improvement of Pique and the ever-present Casillas; I do think that Spain have a chance to quality to the semi-finals at least.

This is just a brief introduction to the Spain squad. Should we pick our favorites to win the World Cup 2010? BETTING in place! wahaha!! Can they win it for the first time in their history???
